一個句子的問題和一個字的翻譯

One can hardly read literature or legends without coming across the stories of magical, mystical creatures.(這是前一句，以下問題都是指下面那句)

elves的同位語是跟在後面的the most well-known creatures

the elves take many shapes and sizes ...是主要子句，among them是它的修飾語，為了與前一句的內容相連結，所以移到句前做為「轉承詞」。

3.這句是用分詞構句嗎？那主詞是什麼？

... evolving from German mythology...是形容詞性質的「分詞片語」，修飾前面的名詞creatures，因為是非限定性質的修飾語，所以前後加上逗號。

「分詞構句」是副詞性質的修飾語，修述的對象是述部。不是本句的狀況。

4.為什麼後面那句也沒有主詞？祈使句？

這兩句都是簡單句（simple sentence），各只有一組述部。
