In what way is the United States a "melting pot"?

Plessy v. Fergusson, Jim Crow laws, African Americans given full citenship rights up until the 1960; everything created to keep the blacks and the whites from mixing, and if the U.S. was truly a melting point current Americans will look like Cubans and Brasilians. Right now at this point in time whites keep segregating themselves, isolating themselves from the rest of the population by living and moving to predominant white neighborhoods. So do you really believe the media hype of America being a melting pot?

how non-white racists and liberal apologists attempt to use the phrase is GIBBERISH.

the phrase a melting pot had ALWAYS referred to white europeans coming together, non-whites were no where in the radar nor was it ever even implied. hell, the phrase itself was coined in that jim crow era. the merging of people, nationalities and cultures had aleays and only been about white europeans.

it was NEVER about multiple races.

but since collectivism... a means of governance and not community is the goal of leftist dogma, liberal apologists tried to change up the language, trying to create indoctrination of america actually being a "mixed salad"... this was a feeble attempt to try and sidestep the fact that race was absolutely a divide, not only white people but non-whites had no interest in any "us", with most still acting in there own racial interests. this was a detriment to the collective.

but that too failed, the hate has since evolved to promote the idea of so called "multiculturalism" new propagandist hate that has nothing to with "culture" and everything to do with multiracialing white societies. its a cute euphemism used by racist hypocrites and cowards.

this "solution" now involves completely "internationalizing" and "multiracialing" white cultures...only with a redefined set of rules dictated by leftist "values, and enforced by social conditioning and politically correct hate and state power.

It's more of a mixing bowl.

And as in many things, the whole idea of a "melting pot" REALLY only meant male people of European descent who could vote.

"Melting Pot" means that there is a plethora of ethnicities and cultures. It refers to the fact that in the U.S. there are African-Americans, Jewish people, Mexicans, Europeans, Native Americans, and everything in between and all around. The U.S. is full of different cultures. Thus, Melting Pot.

I think "melting pot" refers to different cultures and ethnic groups melting together rather than different races.
