Looking for some unknown music?

Hi guys, I am looking for some unknown bands/music that are tucked in the corners of the sh*tpool that people call music these days. Any genre will do, but please, I don't want any crappy music. I would like to be able to find them somewhere on the internet too. Thanks in advance

You're probably not going to learn how and where to find the music you seek in a weekend, it took me years of persistence to develop my technique which included the help of some great private underground forums I belonged to in the past to learn the ways on the internet (the pre-torrent era), that and a high appreciation for many styles of music and the desire to dig deep into any genre that I found interesting.

I'm sure you don't want crappy music (who does?), but you got to weed your way through the crap to find the gems. It's been like that ever since I started looking for music outside of radio in the 70's (yeah, I'm old). It's no different today except at least now I don't have to buy to try nor do I have to leave home to do it (I love the internet!). Proportionally (and it's hard to stress this word enough) there is just as much good music today has there has been past decades. The problem(?) is that there is so much music out today from all over the world that once you get into the groove you just won't believe how much is out there now and it's easy to get to a point of "where do I start"!? The term 'mindboggling' is an understatement.

Probably the easiest way to start is to take what you know now and head to, type in a band and go to a selected video. On the right side of the vid you'll see a list of recomendations, pick a band/artist you don't know and go from there always picking bands you don't know. It's not the most scientific way to do it, but it's a start.

A more indepth way is to search the music blogs with this handy tool

It doesn't seem like much, but it's probably one of my best search tools I have without having to deal with special commands on a regular search engine. I can find practically anything with this (of course I know what I'm looking for in a link), but watch those sites with a .ru ending (Russian), they can be virus prone which brings me to another aspect of finding music on the internet, malicious content and viruses. It's a mean world out there and you will run into viruses at times. It's a good idea to have a suite of anti-virus programs installed like Malwarebytes, Spybot Search & Destroy and the best anti-virus program you can find (I use AVG) and use them all regularly, not to mention keeping you operating system up to date.

Finally some sugestions (Damn, I didn't think he'd ever stop!!!)

Well you have probably heard of him but he's not really on radio. David Archuleta. I love his voice.

You can listen to David's whole 6th album here at Billboard and find tons of his music on Youtube. This album is leftover songs from 2010-2012 (some were released in Asia as bonus tracks on an expanded edition of his 3rd album). And there are 3 classic Philippines pop covers from his Philippines album. This album was released in the US in 2013 while David was away in Chile on a church mission.

And a fan edited this great lipsynced video for one of the 6th album songs by using pieces from all of David's other music videos. Amazing editing job. David ranges from age 16 to age 21 in these videos. He is now back from the 2yr church mission & is 23. He's DavidArchie on Twitter.

    Youtube thumbnail

David is now writing and recording new songs in English and Spanish (he spent 2 yrs speaking and singing in Spanish on his church mission in Chile).
