Wikipedia spells it Paul Erdős

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Erd%C5%91s

From a New York Times article we get

Paul Erdös

http://www.nytimes.com/books/first/h/hoffman-man.h...

An Oakland University http://www.oakland.edu/enp/ article spells it

Paul Erdös

It is pronounced "Air-Dish"

If you have had a mathematics paper published it is quite the status symbol to have an "Erdős" number. The number pf people required to link your paper to any one of his is your Erdős number. The smaller the number, the more impressive is your Erdős number.

I assume you mean the Hungarian mathematician, Paul Erdős

By the way, that's a Hungarian letter ő (o with double acute accent). You'll sometimes see it mistakenly shown as an o umlaut (ö - o with double dots). That is incorrect.
