Why do Americans find it hard to believe Lois Lerner's emails disappeared from her hard drive?

... at the same time her emails disappeared from the hard drives of all the recipients, too?

On June 20, 2014, the smirking IRS Commissioner, John Koskinen, said the following the the U.S. Congress:

"I'm advised the actual hard drive, after it was determined that it was dysfunctional and that, with experts, no emails could be retrieved, was recycled then destroyed in the normal process."

Because we see all the time from police investigations where hard drives are searched for evidence that was deleted long before the police seizes it. The IRS supposedly destroyed the hard drives without notifying anyone, why would it do that when the information could be easily retrieved?

Your kidding right?? They were purposely destroyed,

“The [Federal Records Act] requires agencies to make and preserve records of agency decisions, policies, and essential transactions, and to take steps to safeguard against the loss of agency records,” said House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Rep. Darrell Issa, who subpoenaed IRS Commissioner John Koskinen Monday.

Because republicans are prone to accept any conspiracy theory, no matter how ridiculous and unfounded it may be.

Since we have evidence from Lerner and the IRS IT department dated back before the 'scandal' erupted, showing that the hard drive was, indeed, broken and unable to be repaired, it would seem more than obvious that facts debunk conspiracy theories.

Because emails never disappear unless the drive has been erased

Besides by national archive law the emails are suppose to be copied and kept.

    Hope this helps

I am sure they did when they erased them What I find funny is they actually believe someone believes it was by accident.
