It's a religion, which I suppose is a subset of ideology. It's a specific type of ideology.

“The whole PURPOSE of Christianity is to get you to believe stuff that isn’t true.
They weave a picture of a horrible, inescapable fate… you are doomed from the very beginning, due to an unpardonable ‘sin’ that you had nothing to do with… but wait… there is an ‘out’... just do the program… and they’ve gotcha!”
"Oldest con game in the history of humanity:
I know things that YOU don't know.
I have powers that YOU don't have.
I know beings that YOU can't know.
They tell ME things - things that they don't tell YOU.
YOU can only know this crap if you listen to ME.
Look, here's a book - I know what it MEANS - you DON'T.
I'LL tell YOU.
Oldest con there is - and STILL the most evil".

No. Christianity means to follow Christ -- Christ is not just an idea! He is real and alive!

Christianity, like all religions, is the temporary excuse in an attempt to answer questions for which people currently have no answers.
Knowing this, it is not hard to understand that each and every time science actually DOES find the answer to something previously unknown, the answer is never "God Did It", and nearly always disproves what the religion states.

No.
It's a lot more than that.
False, nonetheless, but more than an ideology.
