Why are bigoted liberals so frightened and repulsed by the Confederate Flag? Why do they look down upon people who display it?

Why do they think everyone who displays it is a racist? Why do they hate Southern history and its heritage so much? Do they not realize how many Southerners died fighting for their own land?

You need a better public relations campaign reminding people that the Confederate flag primarily stood for the rights of states to determine their own destinies. This rather than allowing progressive scholars to twist it into a symbol of support for slavery and oppression. This represents only a mendacious obscuring of our desperate need for a challenge to the abject stupidity and partiality represented by the expanding encroachments of centralized government power.

Our best generals and philosophers, including all of the original Constitutional founders, supported the philosophical position held by those engaged in the Confederate struggle against federal government powers. They admonished us never to use force against individual citizens in local jurisdictions in attempts to compel them to join factions. This is why the war was our bloodiest and most costly, not because people were so desperate to defend an already outdated, unpopular and immoral institution left to them by their ancestors.

Confederates fought against the ability of the federal government to strip existing human rights while granting only new token ones. This stripping of individual rights remains illogical and unnecessary, but is easy to sell to the corrupt, impatient, opportunistic and generationally obtuse. Those possessing hindsight and foresight considered it a perversion to link this noble struggle directly to the institution of slavery and were not fighting for the continuation of human oppression or enslavement of black Africans. This fallacy has been used to obscure the true cause, particularly when the 'Union' faction had no generational strategy for caring for freedmen and still doesn't.

Ironically, we will see the Confederate position on states rights inevitably 'rise again' as predicted, since the alternative is a centralized government futilely hacking at the roots of foundational law until its tools are exhausted and its powers are dispersed and diminished. Its weakness will affect everyone until it can no longer be ignored. We are already seeing the signs of this. Those seeking universal power within the structure of American liberty will find themselves purged by a mind-bending onslaught of ingeniously installed checks and balances of power, patiently and cyclically exchanging all factions with tools of impartial justice. A new interpretation of the Union as a tool for preserving liberty will emerge.

The generational theft and mindless squandering of national and global treasure is the only factor currently perpetuating the farce of the Union as an opportunistic faction. It is barely treading water. A purging is already underway as the foolishness of abandoning the power of local choice has exposed the festering corruption of dead aristocracies vainly attempting a renewed invasion. This corruption is encountering a still impenetrable fortress of vigilant spirit. This will only manage to finally release the pale ghosts of their failed attempts at subverting the will of a relentless and unstoppable God of nature, liberty and impartial justice. The slaves of this current system and the progeny of those enslaved under the last, will finally be set free to explore lives of liberty from the oppression of faction forming. They will not be left without an 'exit' strategy as before, instead experiencing the pursuit of happiness mentioned in the Constitution that comes only from being a genuine part of the greater project of preserving human liberty itself.

So don't treat the Confederate flag like an evil symbol of vanquished oppression and ignorance. It deserves respect and honor for the valiant fight and sacrifice made by our brother citizens, hundreds of thousands of whom summoned the rare courage to face down a short-sighted and violent national government, making the ultimate sacrifice in defense of your individual right to make choices for yourself without being forced at gunpoint to follow the morals and stale vision of a power that is increasingly proving itself to be entirely without morality.

I can understand some people feeling some animosity about the Confederate flag but virtually everything related to US history and Western civilization is offensive to many of them. White people too especially to the white ones. Outrage, victimhood, offense, emotions of hatred of the US are virtually impossible to separate from the Democrat party.

The Democrats want the US to become a country completely in the hands of the federal government without the people having any say in it unless they revolt because our political process is being removed with their only personal input is one vote. They completely miss the purpose of the constitution and only relate it to white men subjugating women and African Americans. They really don't understand how to grasp the kind of freedom that is unique to this country which is why millions upon millions of people left their homelands to come here over generations.

It does have that reputation. Just as the Revolutionary War snake with the Don't Tread on Me caption represents anti-government sentiments today. What else does the confederate battle flag represent? It never had the historical status of the stars and bars. If not racist, it's more of a Dukes of Hazard sort of thing.

    1) Lack of education - the Confederate flag as most know it was actually the battle flag of the Army of West Virginia, commanded by Robert E. Lee, who was staunchly anti-slavery

    2) They love nothing more than to have the moral high ground - a liberal will stop at nothing to make the mentally functional appear morally inferior

    3) Libs will not get over the war and KKK usage and accept that times move on

    4) They have no understanding of context - three colours arranged in a pattern cannot be racist, they are only racist if they are used to cause racial aggravation

You wrongly accuse Liberals of thinking and logic. At best, they are ignorant....bless their hearts.

I'm not frightened by flags. If you are displaying the rebel flag because you support the ideals of the confederacy it is repulsive, and I look down on people who support those ideals because they are atavistic half-wits.

I'm glad you limited that to BIGOTED liberals because I'm a Democrat but not bigoted. I honor the brave men who fought for the Confederacy and have a Confederate flag myself.

It represents a repugnant mindset. When you see a person waving it around, you are more likely than not to be right that they're not very bright, racist, sexist, homophobic, global warming denying and avid listeners of shock jocks like Rush Limbaugh.

    Enough said.

Probs because the people that display it are ignorant human beings. If you want to separate from america by all means do it. Just don't claim yourself as American.
