I can't remember this movie's title, but here are some hints?
I can only recall a man's boot being caught on a train track and then leaping out too late before the train suddenly hits him. Also their clothes were really 'dirty' worn in probably in the early 1920s by poor people who live near train tracks, cause they looked sooty.

That happened in fried green tomatoes. Here is the whole clip.
Buddy Threadgoode (Chris O'Donnell) bonds with the young Ruth (Mary-Louise Parker) and his little sister Idgie Threadgoode (Nancy Moore Atchison). However, when his foot gets caught in the train tracks, he has little time to escape.
