We live in a world filled with all the colors of the rainbow. However, some people are denied the pleasure of seeing them because they are totally color-blind. With regular color blindness, people are unable to tell certain colors apart, but totally color-blind people can see only shades of black, white, and gray.

This condition is relatively rare, affecting around one in every 40,000 people.

Those who are affected tend to be extremely sensitive to bright light, so they usually wear sunglasses whenever they go outside. Their everyday lives are also made difficult by their generally poor vision, especially when it comes to cooking because they can not tell whether the meat is cooked or not.

Being totally color-blind is not all doom and gloom, however. For a start, sufferers have superior night vision, as they are more used to dim light from a good memory. This is because, unable to rely on their eyes, they have a greater need to remember things when taught for the first time. In addition, to compensate for their inferior vision, their other senses. And these highly developed senses likely lead them to be keen observers of their surroundings.

So although totally color-blind people lack the ability to see color as we know it, their world can still be "colorful" in its own special way.

This condition isrelatively rare, affecting around one in every 40,000 people.

Being totallycolor-blind is not all doom and gloom, however. So although totallycolor-blind people lack the ability to see color as we know it, their world canstill be "colorful" in its own special way.
