What is a us embassy? What do the people work there do?
- ?Lv 77 years ago
The Embassy represents the US government in the other country.
The people working there do many things. The main activity is to promote the USA
For example helping people from the other country buy or sell products to/from the USA.
Negotiate things like Airplane routes to the other country.
You can look on an Embassy website and see what they do.
Here is the USA Embassy in Canada and also the Embassy of Canada in the USA
A consulate is part of the Embassy. It deals mostly with people
Both citizens and those wishing to visit or immigrate the other country.
For example the Consulate could help you vote in an Election.
Help you contact your Family in an Emergency
Help on a good day if you have a baby in another country.
Also help on the bad day if you should happen to be in an accident or be in jail.
You could get a New Passport if you lost yours on vacation.
When you board a plane for an International flight the Airline will not let you on without a passport or a special Emergency Travel Document you would get from the consulate.
They also have parties too.
A place for people of the world to send a message to the United States
Some days the work is not fun.
