Hello? Is the U.S.A. allies with Russia?

Yes or no? If no then why are they not allies? Who will win in a fight/war? Who is more prosperous, America or Russia?

Russia and the US are not allies, although they do have certain treaties and accords.

Define a "war with Russia".

Russia has more troops, American weaponry is more advanced.

Any war between Russia and the US - - - probably the whole world loses.

The typical cold war scenario calculated by NATO was that Russia (USSR) would invade Germany (Now it would be Ukraine or an ex-Soviet Block country) NAATO would respond with ground troops which would probably be overrun. To stop the Russian advance they would use tactical (short range) nuclear weapons. Forcing Russia to use tactical nuclear weapons, which would escalate to medium range weapons nuclear weapons and then long range ICBM nukes. At which point everyone loses and hopefully whatever species evolves sentience next learns to play nicely.

Most people in the West (apart form No Brains With Jesus) have realized, after two world wars, and multiple local conflicts including Korea, Vietnam and Iraq - that you do not win a war, you just lose it less badly than the other guy.

Hopefully Putin is able to see this too, and will stick to sabre rattling and brinksmanship rather than real conflict.

Not since 1945, and then it was only driven by a mutual enemy that was worse than Stalin, but not by much.

Realpolitik, not natural allies.

USA is more prosperous and more advanced. USA has more military power than all countries in the world combined, but US is an open democratic republic with freedom of media, etc. So war would be unpalpable with the people of the US, but Russia could basically do whatever the leaders wanted and the people can take whatever news is given them from the state.

Not really "allies" with Russia. We've already won the cold war against Russia. So yeah America would beat Russia again.
