Why not just ignore the Nevada rancher the way BO ignored his illegal alien family members?

He pulled strings and kicked the can down the road then so why not now? Why the forced confrontation by the Feds now?

Update:

Thank you for the information. Makes sense. I suspected that sorry s.o.b. Reid was involved somehow.

The Federal Government owns 77 Percent of the Land and that's what the Rancher is pissed off about. It is Federal land. He was allowed to graze his cattle there and his family until when they started to pay fees for it. In the 1990s the government reneged on the agreement they had with Mr Bundy and Mr Bundy agreed to pay the State and the State refused the payment.

Bundy does not want the Federal Government involved because he believes in States Rights and he thinks it's Bullshit that Harry Reid was able to pull a cronyism deal with his son in 2012 - Reid, D-Nev., and his oldest son, Rory, a former chairman of the Clark County, Nev., County Commission, were both deeply involved in a plan by ENN Energy Group to build a huge solar farm in southern Nevada, according to a Reuters report from August 2012.

Land the Bundy family has been using for cattle ranching was getting in the way of that project, according to documents formerly posted on the Bureau of Land Management’s government website but since removed

The federal government does not own that land. They became involved with this land due to making a turtle on this land a protected species but at this point, there are too many turtles and they are going to kill 1000 of them. The rancher has been paying grazing fees to the state but he is not obligated to pay grazing fees to the federal government.

BLM is pulling out of the area. It was just announced. I believe Harry Reid has something to do with this. He wanted land for the Chinese to build a solar panel field. The feds made this rancher cut his herd down to 150 which will not sustain his income. The feds have no right to do what they have done to this rancher. He is the last one in the area. They chased all the others out. The people will more and more respond to government over reach through civil disobedience. Evidently its the only option left to the American people since laws are no longer upheld in the interest of the citizens.

Find yourself a reputable source of information, such as the Nevada State Constitution written in 1864...
The land HAS ALWAYS ..I REPEAT..ALWAYS been Federal land. It never was State land, from 1864. and like many gullible persons, you THINK the Feds have "come in and done a land grab".

The rancher is Caucasian and, apparently not a liberal. He is a gun owner and shooter. He is a private business owner and making a profit in spite of the federal government's interference. A turtle 99% of us never heard is more important than any human. harry (worthless liar) reid wants to abuse the land for a Chinese company to erect solar panels on.

The federal government has no legal authority to own or operate any "grazing lands" anywhere.

"The federal government does not own that land. The rancher has been paying grazing fees to the state but he is not obligated to pay grazing fees to the federal government. "

And there you have it ... WHY THIS is continuing... because persons are apparently incapable of finding factual information.

The STATE never owned the land. It has been FEDERAL LAND, by virtue of the Nevada state/ territorial constitution in 1864. And anyone who thinks the Federal Govt. does not own lands.. and does not have the right to control them, apparently has never been to even a National park.

The rancher is ignoring a court order to remove his cattle from land he doesn't own. Cons are always about protection of property rights, except shen they are violating property right

Following up. 80% is federal ly owned and has been since the state was formed. But the rancher is a nut job and doesn't think the feds have the power to own land. He is a nut job who refuses to pay the fee to use land he doesn"t own. In Florida a person can shoot trespassers with no consequences! The feds are only taking the cattle
