    I can answer JJ's question, because I've been fully dead before (hospital records). No, the act of dying does not hurt at all. If it's sudden, like a bullet, you don't even know it, but if it's slow, like a disease, then you have time to think about it first. THAT could hurt, but dying itself is rather comfortable. There is no afterlife.
