Why do people dislike Aaron Craft?

He's got a 3.9 GPA, set the school record for career steals (205) this season at Ohio State, and helped the Buckeyes make the Big Ten championship three times. Yet people seem to be taking a great deal of pleasure from the fact that his missed shot at the end of yesterday's game will prevent Ohio State from making a fourth consecutive conference title game appearance.

Why is this?

It's not like the guy is Marshall Henderson, a mindless, gutless, inbred poser who goes out of his way to antagonize people. Craft appears to be a nice guy. Or is it all an act?

He started from the word go, so it seems like he has been playing forever. White guys who play defensive-oriented basketball in the B1G always seem to draw bad reputations. He has gotten away with his share of grabs, pokes and pops, but that gets exaggerated into "dirty play" by haters. The worst thing about him has little to do with him personally, but announcers fellate him from the opening tip. The past 2 years I thought he would suffer a serious injury slipping on all the broadcaster drool on the court.

So yeah, not only do they hate seeing him but they are reminded of it repeatedly by whoever's calling the game. More vocal bashers insist he has immunity from refs, and without it he would be useless. Strange bunch.

He works over the refs so he gets away with stuff others don't
