File extension not authorized?

I am trying to submit a writing sample for a scholarship. However, I am unable to because everytime I try to submit it, I get a message saying file extension not authorized. I have attempted several different extensions such as doc docx pdf and html to no avail. Any suggestions? btw I wrote it on microsoft word.

    There are a lot of different file extensions.

    You need to ask whoever is in charge of giving the scholorship which file extension you must use.
