Does the US Mexico border close?
Does the US Mexico border close at night? Does it only close one way, or both?

Yes some ports of entry from Mexico to the United States will close at night. It depends where you live, like California, Arizona, New Mexico or Texas. Here in California, the San Ysidro port of entry stays open 24/7, whereas the Otay Mesa port of entry closes at 8 pm to 6 am - Monday to Friday and 4 pm to 8 am Saturday and Sunday. http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/toolbox/contacts/ports/... Here's the official listing of the San Ysidro port of entry to prove that it's open 24 hours: http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/toolbox/contacts/ports/... and another listing compiled below of all the Mexican port of entry into the United States. Note that the hours of operation are different from what the United States Customs and Border Protection website have listed. Call them, if you need to know and which ¨way¨ are they closed. I remember one time we crossed into Otay Mesa after midnight; so call to make sure.

I agree with EastsideGuz. I cannot understand why anyone would give him a thumbs down, with the information is correct. Maybe the person did not want to hear the truth, because it was what he did not want to hear.
So be it, now I shall get a thumbs down also.
Oh by the way, the only hand drawn international ferry in the world does not open until 8 AM at Los Ebanos, Texas.
