Why is the media not reporting on the civil unrest in Venezuela?
Students in Venezuela began protesting due to political corruption and lack of justice (i.e. Cases of murder, rape, theft, and many other things are closed almost immediately although nothing was done by the police). The Venezuelan news isn't reporting on it due to the government taking down stations that do. But this isn't about the protest, this is about the military firing into crowds of peaceful protesters. Hundreds of murders by the military are going unreported every day. To top it all off, I searched for anything that had to do with this in CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX, and there was NOT A SINGLE article on it. I found out about this through a video created by a Venezuelan native who wants to spread the word. Here's the link to the video: https://yrj8usi8t5zbg6zcefy4.r.worldssl.net/video/...

Not so, coverage there is.

Many news sites particularly in America are biased against the Government so now they are in a difficult position. They have lost legitimacy for spreading propaganda. It is up to Venezuelans and International media to report this. Over the past few years journalists have focused more on in depth stories in places like Syria where the Security Council has money in the fight.

I think there is a news lock down in Venezuela.

Good question...I've been watching the reports on Telemundo or Univision (latin stations). Like you, I've wondered why it's not shown on the regular news.Source(s): Satellite TV latin
