You Highness please allow me to take care of this matter."(第三格)Wu Zixu ordered the excess grains to be immersed in water and steamed.(第四格)The grains were then mashed into paste to from bricks.(第五格)A says: " Stack these rice bricks up along the city wall, and cover them with another layer of brick wall."(第六格)After Emperor He Lu died, his son Fu Chai succeeded to the throne.He waged war on the northern states to gain domination, and acting upon slanderous rumours, forced Wu Zixu to commit suicide.(第七格)Wu kingdom was later counter-attacked by the Yue kingdom.The resulting political upheaval caused widespread famine.(第八格)B says: " I'm hungry, but there's nothing left to eat, not even tree bark. What should we do now?"C says: " Before his death, Minister Wu once said that if we can break down the inner city wall."(第九格)B says: " Oh yes! The wall was made of rice bricks! If not for Minister Wu, we would have starved to death."(第十二格)To honour Wu Zixu , rice bricks were baked and offered to him during New Year, and slowly this became the custom of eating New Year cakes.
