Who were the filibusters? In what ways did their actions influence Spanish and later Mexican attitudes towards Anglo immigration?

Filibusters were American adventurers who led mercenary armies into Latin American countries to start or support revolutions there in the mid 19th century.Their major motivations were financial gains and political power for themselves. The best known is probably William Walker.
Filibusters made white American immigration to Latin American countries look like land grabs for personal gain, and an extension of US power and influence into these countries,so was generally viewed negatively by Latin American authorities.

The question is not about the very long Congressional speeches called "filibusters." It's about the earlier meaning of the term, which has to do with mercenaries and adventurers in Latin America.

Filibusters had nothing to do with Spain and Mexico allowing Anglo immigrants into their respective countries.

I filibuster is when the opposition protract the time a piece of legislation takes to pass through congress.
It is just a time wasting process but only delays the inevitable
You will need to work out how that affected the issue you are studying
