i recently read one of his books and thought it was pretty interesting, has anyone gone any further to prove his theories wrong/right? or is everyone just pretty much ignoring it?

"Velikovsky employed a very common device. You take a handful of unrelated events and weave a story using each of those events to lead towards your desired conclusion.

Conspiracy theorists do this all the time. The point is that they ONLY present facts which support their desired hypothesis and ignore the rest. Superficially it can look scientific because each individual fact will stand up if researched. It is only when you string them together that it becomes rubbish."

EVERYONE does that. The experts do that. Universities do that. That is the STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE. EVERY theory can sound plausible if you censor the stuff that makes it sound implausible. Journals, of whatever kind, should be used for quality control, but they are often used to CENSOR the data. To censor the best theories. To censor the best science.

Knowledge is POWER. Do all you bozos out there seriously believe that you can go to university and get the pure unadulterated TRUTH??? What utter nonsense!

Most of you know that politics is corrupt. Most of you know that economics and money is corrupt, BUT most of you are still living in a naive, cowardly little fantasy world where you think that science and academia is a bastion of truth and honesty...... GROW UP!!!!

By the way, Velikovsky was a GENIUS but the people who deserve a Nobel Prize will never get one because the Nobel Prize Committee are a bunch of shits!

Velikovsky is the BEES KNEES but everyone would rather WORSHIP aplagiarist and sadistic abuser called Einstein. Einstein was either a willing accomplice in the murder of physics or he was useful idiot, I say the former.

Black holes warping spacetime and other made up airy fairy nonsense.... utter RUBBISH.

Atoms are electromagnetic. Light is electromagnetic. Matter emits photons when it is suitably excited. A photon is kinda a particle but also a wave. Anyone else seeing a pattern here or is modern science just too dumbed down and brainwashed to see what is RIGHT IN FRONT OF IT.

Wal Thornhill deserves a Nobel Prize, but his stuff is probably over the head of the brainwashed masses. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxaP91FdijU

For god sake! We are all paying off national debts that were COUNTERFEITED OUT OF THIN AIR. It's all very simple! Universities are NOT there to liberate you. When are the BOZOS gonna get that into their thick heads?

    He makes physically impossible claims.

When his stuff first came out, scientists discounted it because the then current theories did not allow for bodies in space to collide very often.

However, once the theories changed (asteroid/comet collisions etc) his stuff wasnt rehabilitated because it was STILL pretty nuts.

If I say a demon shot Reagan or Kennedy, am I right because, after all, guns WERE used?

He's right only in that sense.

The joke about him was as an astronomer he made a bad historian and as a historian he made a bad astronomer.

If you don't get that, here's a similar one about one about a very bad railway locomotive. "As a locomotive it makes a good garden shed." .

Yes, his nonsense has been completely debunked hundreds of times over.

By the way, none of them were "theories."
