does the line of best fit have to hit the x axis?

Assuming that you know that there is no positive y intercept, is it still necessary to show that the line of best fit intercepts the x axis?

Update:

im trying to draw a line of best fit and determine the y intercept would i get marked down for not making the line touch the x axis?

Update 2:

im trying to draw a line of best fit and determine the y intercept would i get marked down for not making the line touch the x axis?

No, it isn't. The line could be horizontal.

The line should, at least, past through the entire cluster of points, though.

If it makes you feel better, go ahead and draw the line through the x-axis, even if there's no data there. However, as I said, the line should at least pass through the cluster of points on your graph.
