What is an Investment expense? is used for buying and selling stock?

I am unsure for taxes if I need to file Schedule P/ CA Form 3526. I know that it says it is for dividends and interest, but I'm not sure if an investment expense is also used for buying and selling stock, used for investment, when there is a fee for the handling of when stock is bought and sold?

Thanks for any answers and happy holidays!

Update:

This is for taxes in California:

Schedule P: Alternative Minimum Tax and Credit

The brokers fee is usually added on to the cost of the stock for the basis. An investment expense would be, for example, a yearly management fee.

OK so that is for your state FTB return RIGHT.

First you will have to fill out correctly and completely your 1040 FIT return for this purpose and time in your life during the 2014 tax filing season for your 2013 FIT return before you would be trying to fill out your 2013 FTB state Ca income tax return form for the 2013 tax year during the 2014 tax filing season.

Hope that you find the above enclosed information useful. 12/29/2013

do you have fees shown separately on your report? those would be only expenses related to your stock sells
