origin wont install sims 3?

I've been having a lot of problems with my sims games ever since adding an expansion a few days ago, so i uninstalled everything and cleaned my registry to see if it works again. i have the sims 3 base game through origin, i JUST uninstalled it so i know i don't have any files for it, but instead of saying "download" like it should, it says install, and when i click it nothing happens. how can i get it to download my game then install?
