What does AT&T mean when they say they cover 99% of Americans?
At the end of their commercial with the kids sitting around the table, they claim to cover 99% of Americans. How is that possible? Does that mean that 1% of Americans don't use AT&T?

It means 99% are in a covered area. So while 99% of americans are eligible to be covered ... that doesn't mean 99% of america is in a covered area.

That they offer service, in some form, through some partner, that is available to 99% of the population. It does not mean their network supports service over 99% of the domestic land mass.

Their signal cover 99% of the populated area in the US. Has nothing to do with the number of customers.

it Likely means that ATT's Towers provide Coverage for 99% of the US's Populated Land
but it is a statistic so semantics can be used to wrap it aroundiself and make it say anything
