Does hydrogen peroxide whiten teeth? Other methods/home remedies?
Right now I'm putting hydrogen peroxide on my toothbrush and simply brushing. Will this whiten my teeth? What are other home remedies to whiten teeth?

Hydrogen peroxide on your toothbrush will not whiten your teeth.
Many whitening gels are made with hydrogen peroxide, but the concentration is much higher than what you get in the liquid of the drugstore bottle. Also, the gel is in contact with the teeth for longer than just the 2-3 minutes it takes to brush. Additionally, hydrogen peroxide can be irritating to your gum tissue.
For surface stains, you could try brushing with a paste of baking soda and water. Or add some baking soda on top of your regular toothpaste. it is abrasive, so no more than 2-3 times per week.Source(s): Orthodontic assistant with over 30 years of experience.
