Why are republican congressmen now talking like they are nuclear experts?

I am watching Charlie Rose and the Republican Congressmen are trying to explain how Iran can make a bomb out of non-weapons grade material.

Even low-enriched uranium is a tremendous leg-up in developing a bomb.

From the AEI Report of February 2012 on Iran’s nuclear program:

"The work and time required to enrich uranium from its natural concentration (0.7%) to 3.5% low-enriched uranium (LEU) is an order of magnitude greater than that required to enrich 20% LEU to weapons-grade concentrations (90% U-235). That is because centrifuges must spin more than 14,000 kg of uranium ore to produce 1,373 kg of 3.5% LEU, but only 116 kg of 20% LEU to produce 15 kg of weapons-grade uranium."

Problem is that nothing is stopping them from enriching uranium to weapons grade. And even non-weapons grade material can be used to create a dirty bomb, which can be just as dangerous.

What is truly amusing is watching democrats talk like they are experts on the economy and health care, we have 5 years that says they are wrong.

Because the Iranians are able to retain all of their centrifuges. This allows them in a matter of a few months convert the non-weapons grade uranium into weapons grade uranium.

This is what their constituency wants them to do. No Congressperson is an expert at any one thing but they have opinions supported by testimony, wrong or right. Regardless of how dumb or inappropriate their comments may be, just remember, they are backed by a majority of their constituents at the time of their election. Hopefully the bad ones won't return.
