Chicago winter weather?

When exactly did it start and stop snowing in Chicago last year (winter '12 - '13)? I would like to know so I know when the latest I can visit. I have never seen snow before so I would love to also know when exactly the best time for me to visit would be.

Thank you.

When it snowed last year really has nothing to do with when it will snow this year. Heck we have had snow in April.

Christmas - whole month of December- Chicago is wonderful. Beautifully decorated. Lots going on everywhere. But no guarantee of snow. You never know when it will snow here. We are expected a little snow today.

Last year's weather has absolutely nothing to do with this year's weather. There's no "exact" date for beginning or end of snow [or anything else] anywhere. You could use the "weather" button on the Yahoo home page to find out usual weather for any location, but that's no guarantee. Or you could use the Weather Channel website.

If you wanted to be more sure of seeing snow, January or February would be pretty good bets.

When EXACTLY it snowed last year has little to do with when it will snow this year.

If your objective is to see snow then aim for the middle of winter and not the last day.

The first snow has come already.

You can use this chart to take a guess at what the weather will be like for spring months

Snow can come one day and melt in just one or two days late in the spring or be mixed with rain and melt when it lands.
