How can I license a song for youtube and how much it will cost?

It might conceivably cost multiple-thousands of dollars, if not millions; or it
may not even be possible. After all, companies like Nike, Apple, or Pepsi
are often refused the use of songs - no matter how much money is offered.
The other option is to try and figure out which Copyright-protection society
is responsible for licensing their public rights. The most common ones are:
-- American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP)
-- Broadcast Music Inc. (BMI)
-- Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers of Canada (SOCAN)
-- British Performing Rights Society for Music (PRS for Music)
-- Society of European Stage Authors and Composers (SESAC)
