Best way to travel from Belfast to Liverpool?

Please, note that by best I mean cheapest and fastest. But, I'd appreciate to know as much as possible about public transportation in North Ireland. I've never been there and will visit the Belfast for the first time this coming January. I'm so looking forward to it.
