'It turns out that Lois Lowery got so many ideas for The Giver from her childhood. For example, she took the idea of not being able to see colors from the event where a painter who she interviewed for a magazine. She finds out that he love colors as much as she does. But later she find out that he has gone blind. I'm surprised Lois Lane ever said anything long enough to be called a speech. A speech would be hard to fit in those dialogue bubble things in comics.
