I am trying to find out the date of death of my maternal Great Great grandfather Horace Peters?
I have searched for my maternal great great grandfather Horace Peters on ancestry.com in the 1880
US Census in Spring City, Rhea county Tennessee...he was married to Mollie Locke, and their
daughter was my maternal Great grandmother, Annie Peters-Pirkle...my question is: what is the date of
death for Horace Peters and where was he buried?

Are you sure you have the right Annie Peters Pirkle and parents? I find James A (Anderson) Pirkle and wife Annie E in 1910 census married 10 yrs with no children listed as being born to Annie or in the household as James has married twice. In 1920, 1930 and 1940 (listed as Pickle) censuses still no children in households. 1910 census Anna's mother Mollie Smith in listed as next household. In 1920 Mollie Smith is "mother-in-law" in James and Anna Pirkle household. In 1930 no Mollie Smith so may have died before 1930. The race for these Pickle and Smith is listed as Black or Mulatto. Living in Rhea County TN and even on Find A Grave as buried in Rhea County.
TN marriages has a Mollie Locke married Horace Peters 1879 in Rhea County and a Mollie Locke married Luther Smith in 1892 in Rhea County. Also Horace Peters married (besides Mollie Locke) a Mahala Lusters in 1894 in Rhea County.
The H T Peters that Wendy found in 1900 Carter County is married 20 years to wife Mary with race as White. Looking at earlier censues his full name is Henry Tucker Peters and is in Carter County 1860 to 1900 census and later.
Horace Peters should have married 6 years (with wife Mahala) also should have married twice in a 1900 census.
James Pirkle could have had children with first wife and that is the Great grandmother you might need to find, not with second wife Annie nee Peters.Source(s): Ancestry

in 1880, Horace and Mary were living with her family. Mollie is a nickname, and shows on their marriage in 1879.
in 1900, he is age 43...
I don't spot him yet in 1900, however he clearly lived tht long. He may have an alternate name that you don't yet know.
