Kinda, along with freedom taken away with the failed 18th amendment.

The 21st amendment opened the door for previously banned liquor companies to manufacture a better product for consumers than the speakeasies could.

Colorado and Washington see the success of #21 and #18's failure. The other 48 states need to catch up with us.

Not really, it repeals the 18th amendment, which was known to most as prohibition. Prohibition failed for numerous reasons. Made criminals rich, whiskey and beer were readily available from Canada and Mexico, very lax borders at the time. We all know the story of the mob gangs and the southern moonshiners.

So really it was just to repeal prohibition, inadvertently it did generate a free market again, but that is not it's purpose

    Edit, here's a nice concise link http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/amendmentx...

that Amendment simply rescinded the 19th Amendment prohibiting the sale or manufacture of alcohol for person use..that's ALL it does!

No. It says that states can make their own laws.
