Why did my dad say this?

I was arguing with my dad tonight about my future. I made this statement me: "It's not like I'm ever going to have a family or kids." Him: "yea you are, and if your not, shame on you" Why did he say "shame on you" to me when I said that I wasn't going to have a family when I grow up? I'm 18 by the way.

Because he's a fascist. You are under no obligation to have kids and his power ends when you are 18 and out of his house.

It sounds like you think families aren't important and you can do better without one or something, and I guess that annoyed him.
