The only religion in the world that has a stance on killing any form of life; including insects and microbes is the JAIN religion that is related to Buddhism and Hinduism. There are very few followers; they live as monks and nuns and always wear a mask over their mouth in case they breathe in an insect - they gently sweep their path as they walk in case they step on a bug. They cannot prepare their own food and drink as they will kill microbes and bugs, so they rely on attendants to do this for them and in return these attendants believe they will reincarnate to a higher level; though not as high as the pure Jain monks and nuns. They will also never kill any animal even if it is in pain and this has caused some controversy in India in animal sanctuaries run by Jains that have been accused as being cruel.

    Depends on the religion.

In Christianity, we believe that God gave man dominion over the animals kingdom.

which religion? Christianity could care less about anything alive that isn't a fetus that they don't have to actually see. If you doubt this, then explain why Christians are not rabid environmentalists, protecting god's creation with their lives?

Buddhists would suggest that all life is precious and must be protected, but you are allowed to defend yourself. It's a matter of INTENTION when it comes to killing any other creature.

  • Like all others of Gods creations, If you do not need to kill it, Then why do so, for it has the right to life just as you do.

Depends on the religion. Jainism prohibits it. Abrahamic religions are cool with it.
