Will Chevrolet ever bring back the Full Size Chevy Blazer (K-5 Blazer)?

I am not talking about the Chevrolet Trailbazer or the S-10 Mid Size Blazer. I am talking about the Full-Size two door Chevrolet Blazer also known as the K-5 Blazer that was around from 1969 to 1994:

This was the best of them all! Not even the Trailblazer can compare to this! It was the size of a Tahoe, but had much larger tires and off-road capability equivalent to a Jeep Wrangler! The K5 Blazer was the real Chevrolet Blazer and I don't know why GM decided to discontinue it! I heard that the Trailblazer is going to return to North America in 2014, but honestly? GM needs to have the actual, the real Chevrolet Blazer return to North America if anything.

Will GM ever bring back the Chevrolet Trailblazer?? I certainly hope so!

You are in the minority. That is why they won't bring it back.

The full size trucks with crew cabs (particularly the shortbeds) take the place of the K5. The K5 is/was hard to get into the rear seats, and with no removable top after 1991, no real benefit over the pickups that have four doors. Not much on bed space, short wheel base which isn't great for towing, so not a whole lot going for it today.

Don't get me wrong, I've got two of them from the 80's, I think they are great trucks, but for todays modern buyer, they aren't a good sell.

I don't know what you mean about bigger tires, the largest offered were 31's, and that's not huge by any standard. Not to mention the fact that the REAL K5's had solid front axles, and new ones would have weak IFS, with horrible approach angle. The only benefit would be the power and driveability of the modern drivetrain.

No, the fuel economy standards are requiring a highly efficient fleet. They base this on wheelbase and the k5 was one of the smallest wheelbases. You will notice how all the SUVs are pushing the wheels closer and closer to the bumper. This is to get the largest wheelbase possible. It is highly unlikely they will roll out another small truck for this very reason.

No. If they did it would be so full of safety and nanny devices you purists would hate it because it would be just like a Tahoe- soccer parent mobile.
