Whats the probability that the 2nd card is an Ace?

If you have a standard poker deck, and the card on the top is removed, whats the probability that the 2nd card is an Ace?

(I think there are 4 Aces and 52 cards,not sure)

    although it might seem odd initially,

    P(2nd card is an ace) is exactly = 4/52 = 1/13 <---------

    this is because a card has no preference for position !

    still, let us verify conventionally using law of total probability

    P(2nd is an ace) = P(ace-ace) + P(nonace-ace)

    = 4/52*3/51 + 48/52*4/51

    = 4*(3+48)/(52*51) = 4/52 = 1/13 <-------

    If the card on the top was an ace then it's 3/51, otherwise it's 4/51. So it would be a probability of 7/102.

    if first removed card is not an ace

    P=4/51

    other wise

    P=3/51=1/17
