Is CONCACAF ahead of the AFC?
Mexico ist struggling in World Cup qualification, and Japan cruised through but at the FIFA Confederations Cup Mexico beat Japan 2-1. Is this proof CONCACAF is ahead of the AFC?

Nope, I don't think so. Because, AFC has much more better players than the CONCACAF. Since CONCACAF is mostly about Brazil and Argentina, AFC is more about Japan, South and North Korea, Turkey(Asian Part), Thailand, India, Nepal also. So, AFC is improving than CONCACAF!

Yes I do think Concacaf are ahead of the AFC. Better players and better teams. U.S. and Mexico are likely better than any team in Asia. Japan and South Korea are good also but not as good.

That's not the greatest way to do comparison.
Because that same Confed Cup Japan had a hell of a fight vs. Italy.
But I do believe CONCACAF overall has a better pool than AFC.

As per official FIFA ranking
CONCACAF teams have a strength of 0.88
where as AFC has a strength of 0.86
so clearly FIFA agree CONCACAF is stronger
for the record
CONMEBOL & UEFA have 1.0
CAF(Africa) is also 0.86
