Are community banks better than big national banks?

I have been with BoA for a long time and honestly they have never screwed me. I was thinking of opening an account with a community bank just to see what are the differences, San Diego County credit Union was where i want to switch to. Can anybody give me any info, i would really appreciate it thanks!!

In some aspects they are better and some they are not. As a fellow BofA customer I think we can agree that the best thing about them is that they have their ATM's EVERYWHERE. Also, they have much more online and app tools than a community bank will offer. On the flip side, community banks are more service oriented, can have better rates, and obtaining financing is easier (generally).

Whether you deal with a big bank or a small one, they'll out to take your money. It's your choice.
