    The original rudimentary internet connected all the armed services and bases in the US

    during the cold war 1947-1991.

    This was a Political and Military stand off between the Western and Eastern Blocs.

    Germany was spit in two by the Berlin Wall and Russia hid behind the Iron Curtain

    and China hid behind the Bamboo Curtain!

    In 1969 research began into a general internet using various protocols.

    1986 saw the first server nodes being connected and available to the general

    public. 1990 it really took off and as they say the rest is history.

    What's it used for? Anything you like!
