What do you think of my movie idea?

This story is copyrighted.

It is called "The Black Hat". This is the outline:

The movie opens up with a news report about another victim killed by the mysterious Black Hat killer. The shot from the camera is a house.

6 months before this report, Sgt. Abraham Miller has just moved to Watertown, Massachusetts, with his newlywed wife, Kate. He has served as a military police officer, and he was promoted to sergeant during that time. He is partnered with the young and well-meaning Detective Hank Ashfield. They are under the command of Captain Joseph Rice.

Abraham and Hank are assigned to investigate the murder of teenager Benjamin Irving. The only evidence left behind was a black fedora, and the DNA on the fedora has no match. 5 days later, the manhunt for the killer is suspended, with no evidence presenting itself besides the black hat.

3 weeks after the first murder, two girls are found severely sexually assaulted and barely clinging to life. Again, the only evidence left behind was a black fedora. As Abraham and Hank are on their way to the hospital to question the girls, they receive a call from Rice, who tells them the girls have died. This enrages Abraham, who was so close to having a lead.

A month later, a family is found dead with the exception of the father, Vernon Rickwood. Who sustained no injuries. Abraham and Hank question him, when Vernon says that the killer was tall, skinny, and wore all black, including a black fedora. The police begin a sketch of the killer, but it will not be done for 5 days.

Abraham has become withdrawn from Kate, as he spends a lot of time looking for evidence on the killer. Kate invites Hank over for dinner one night, and they begin an affair. Abraham finds out about the affair, beating Hank to the point where he is hospitalized. He then leaves his home after slapping Kate to go to the bar.

4 nights later, Joseph Rice is found dead and Vernon Rickwood has vanished. Abraham has been suspended by the police, and Kate has left Watertown to stay with her parents. As Abraham lies in bed at home. He hears a window break downstairs.

The movie then repeats to the news report from the beginning, revealing the house to be Abrahams. Also, the news has footage of the Black Hat Killer walking away, but it is not clear enough to see his face. At the station, the sketch is completed, and the picture is none other then Vernon Rickwood.

In a post-credits scene, a nurse tries to wake up Hank, but notices his throat is slit, and runs away. The camera then focuses on a black fedora sitting on his bedside table.

The story you posted may be "copyrighted", but the idea and concept are not. Now that you have released the idea in public, you can expect others to copy it and there is nothing you can do about it.

not bad, I think Hank's role could be fleshed out a bit...
