    John paid $52.50 total.

    $30 went for a flat fee.

    So 52.50 - 30 = mileage.

    So John spent $22.50 on miles @ 10¢ per mile

    0.10m = 22.50

    m = 225

    30 + (0.10)*m = 52.50

    0.1 m =22.5

    m=22.5/0.1

    m=225

    0.1x + 30 = 52.5

    0.1x = 52.5 - 30
