Any environmental science fair project ideas?
I need a science fair topic for school. The research paper is due in a week and I still haven't been able to come up with a topic.
I'm really interested in environmental science and biomimicry but any ideas would be appreciated.

Hm..Well, it depends on what type of project you're looking at doing. Do you want to do a project in "serious" science? As in, a project worthy of Intel ISEF, ISTS, and Google Science Fair? Or do you want to do a simple project for school?
If the first one is your goal, then find researchers in your area who focus on env. sci and ask to work under them. For example, I am working under a professor at a local university on a project that I hope to enter into ISEF and other serious science fairs.
If you're not interested in doing serious science, then you can easily look up "environmental science fair projects" on Google and find a plethora of ideas to choose from.
This is a project that is considered "serious" science, but didn't take the student much effort to do. http://www.societyforscience.org/sts/2013finalists...
The first answerer basically sums it up, but the link that talks about Jack Andraka and his "novel" cancer test is a bit misleading. Andraka's test is far from novel; in fact, a 2008 paper used the exact same methodology to detect breast cancer.

See the best answer at the first reference. Look around and let these sites stimulate your imagination for a topic of your own. I hope all you need in a week is the topic, not the final project. For someone who takes the science fair seriously, see the second reference.Source(s): http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=201102... http://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/Jack-...
