2008 Cadillac STS shifting from park to reverse noise?

Hello when i turn my car on and shift from park to reverse my car makes a "thump" noise. i can feel it on the shift knob when it does it and you can also hear it. I would like to know what may be wrong with it?

    Well, it is either the center carrier bearing is shot and/or the rear differential bushing broken. Cant remember which year they changed the design of the bushing, need to have someone look at it on a lift
