    in a hurry 係指 匆忙地

    1. You should do your work at once. Don't hesitate.

    2. You can finish your project in a hurry. It's been delayed for a week already.

You must finish your project (immediately) 的意思,那則也可以用 at once。

    Raymond,

點解用 can finish ...

(informal) To say that somebody must do something, especially when you are angry.

You can finish your project in a hurry.

= You must finish your project in a hurry.

    1. You should do your work at once. Don't hesitate.

at once 立刻,因為後句 Don't hesitate 是不要猶豫或遲疑,所以用 at once.

    2. You can finish your project in a hurry. It's been delayed for a week already.

    in a hurry 針對的是行動,是指進行的速度,是解答 how 的問題。

at once refers to the time a task is carried out.

in a hurry addresses the speed with which you carry out a task.

點解用 can finish ...

(informal) To say that somebody must do something, especially when you are angry.

    (Ref: http://oald8.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/dictio... #11

You can finish your project in a hurry. = You must finish your project in a hurry.

(I think我認為原本)You can finish your project "in a hurry"=as soon as possible.

(the fact is現況是) It has been delayed for a week already.

    所以對應的行動/形容做的副詞或phrase便應是「立刻」do your work "at once".

"You can/must finish your project at once" sounds a lot better to me than "You can/must finish your project in a hurry'

(1)You should do your work at once.=adv all together, at the same time. Don't hesitate.

    (2)You can finish your project in a hurry.=go hasten , be speedy;

    =can finish=auxiliary verb + verb
