We should abolish the United Nations Security Council Veto?
Hello, I have a debate coming up and I need to know about this issue, about how it affects your country and your proposal to address the issue. Specific answers are highly appreciated. Thank you.

It is a difficult task, requiring amendment of the UN Charter. This again requires consensus among nations and unanimity among the Permanent Members, who enjoy veto power. Moreover individual opinions do not count much. Member countries have to decide, resolution has to be introduced and, in the final stage, the Security Council has to pass it without any Permanent Member vetoing it.

There's really no point.
The United Nations Security Council has no legitimacy without the cooperation of the five powers that are permanent members. If you get rid of them, and their veto, it won't matter what the Security Council does because it won't have any teeth behind it.
