I was in Mumbai last month & saw pretty much all of the major famous places:

    Gateway of India

    Hanging Gardens

    Mani Bhavan - Gandhi's House

Dhobi Ghat - Open Air Laundrette inside a Slum (Don't worry you don't need to go through the slum, it's situated at the entrance)

    Elephanta Island

Sanjay Gandhi National Park (Don't miss, there are many monkeys, caves, temple, other wildlife all situated in a forest)

    Prince of Wales Museum

    Colaba Causeway

    Mount Mary Church

Mahalaxmi Temple & Haji Ali Dargah (Are situated next to each other so you can visit both in the space of one hour or so)

I have never been to Delhi but if I were to go, I would recommend:

    Lodi Gardens

    Red Fort

    Chandni Chowk

    Humayuns Tomb

    Jama Masjid

    India Gate

    Qutab Minar

    Lotus (Baha'i) Temple
