What's a good book that takes place in the future where society dramatically changes?

Also the main character tries to change how things are, but he higher authority wants to stop the protagonist in order to keep things constant. Also an all controlling totalitarian government seems like it would fit here. Try to name books that aren't "The Giver" or "Fahrenheit 451".Now I'm not saying no books like the ones I just mentioned, just them specifically. Also list off as many books as possible, and you will be sure to win.

I have read both Fahrenheit 451 and The Giver, and I really liked this book called The Last Book In The Universe.

Basically there is a huge earthquake that messes up all of civilization, its basically anarchy. But the story line has to do with the fact that there are 2 social classes. A class of genetically improved "perfect" people, who live in this beautiful beautiful area.

Then there are the normals, who live in the waste land anarchy areas.

The main character is a "norm" and throughout the story he tries to save his little sister, who has this really fatal disease. The only way to do this, is through the perfects, who norms are forbidden to get access to.

So its a realllyyy good book in my opinion.

Metro 2033 and Metro: last light, both of those books were later made into video games. I've read the books and they're very well written. They're Russians who survive a nuclear Holocaust by hiding in the metro systems and have to survive attacks by mutants and Nazi and Communist who are trying to unite the metro.

    by Larry Correia

Series: Monster Hunters International by Larry Coreia

    Publisher: Baen Books

    Welcome to Monster Hunter International.

Five days after Owen Zastava Pitt pushed his insufferable boss out of a fourteenth story window, he woke up in the hospital with a scarred face, an unbelievable memory, and a job offer.

It turns out that monsters are real. All the things from myth, legend, and B-movies are out there, waiting in the shadows. Officially secret, some of them are evil, and some are just hungry. On the other side are the people who kill monsters for a living. Monster Hunter International is the premier eradication company in the business. And now Owen is their newest recruit.

It's actually a pretty sweet gig, except for one little problem. An ancient entity known as the Cursed One has returned to settle a centuries old vendetta. Should the Cursed One succeed, it means the end of the world, and MHI is the only thing standing in his way. With the clock ticking towards Armageddon, Owen finds himself trapped between legions of undead minions, belligerent federal agents, a cryptic ghost who has taken up residence inside his head, and the cursed family of the woman he loves.
