Hyouka: What does the words at the end of episodes mean?
there are sentences like
"why didn't she ask EBA?"
"the niece of time"
"welcome to kanya festa!"
at the end of every episode. i only watched 13 eps so i dont know maybe there's more.
SO, i wonder what does "why didn't she ask EBA?" means, rather than the other two. maybe "the niece of time" too, if you know what that is.
whats EBA anyway?

I think, that's a Title from the light novel. here look at this.
Volume 1 title is "Hyouka 氷菓 - You can't escape / The niece of time" and so on. I guess, It doesn't have any meaning at all, Just some random title. And about EBA, it's a name "Kurako EBA"
I don't know why it's like that, though. Maybe, Eba already know what happen with the movie...
thanks^^Source(s): sorry for my bad english... don't blame me please... :'(

I think it was all about Chitanda's theory (abaut Oreki's ending for the movie).
As far as I remember, on episode eleven she said his ending wasn't what Hongou wanted.
That's what she said: "I wasn't specifically interested in the ending of the story[...] I was curious about Houngou. It didn't matter how I looked to it, I found the case strange. Why didn't Irie ask about the trick to someone next to Hongou, like Eba?".
You said you watched 13 episodes, right? Then you saw that moment too!
If you review the episode eleven, you'll see it! She said it at about 07:00.
That's why, I think. It was all related to what made Oreki think twice (about the reason why the lion was dominated: a kind lady).

"Why didn't they ask Eba?" is a reference to Agatha Christie's "Why Didn't They Ask Evans?". "The Niece of Time" is a reference to "The Daughter of Time", a detective novel by Josephine Tey. There are hundreds of references to famous mysteries in Hyouka.
