(What do you think about family education?)

Family education= receiving education at home without going to school, which means teachers are your parents.
Family education is a sort of special ways to educate children. It could be either good or bad. Some may argue that family education is not a proper means to let children learn enough knowledge in comparison to school education, because obviously parents are not qualified teachers, who would deliver classes in a much more formal way with plentiful of information kids require to learn. In school, kids receive education from a variety of teachers who specialize in different subjects, whereas kids can only have two parents as many. If they have questions that their parents cannot answer, who else can they turn to? Moreover, teaching skills are another reason why parents should sent their kids to school, since that could mean a much more efficient and fluent way for kids to learn and absorb, while not every parents major in education and can correctly help their kids with those skills. Nevertheless, staying at home means being secluded from the small societal organization-school, where they can make friends with others, and learn to interact with schoolmates, or to fight back against those bullies if necessary.
However, those who are for family education would their say. First, parents may not be as capable as qualified teachers, but they can nurture them with love. With love, parents can patiently teach their children with educating materials from both internet or regular textbooks and kids can always have the right to choose which subject they want to learn more, whereas schools only educate in a more fixed standard. In compliance with the needs and desire of children, education can be funner and intriguing for them and of course, they can take in more information which they are required to learn. Second, home learning means more time with family and can parents can form stronger bond with their children, vice versa.

I guess so, but family education seems broader than parenting, doesn't it?

Maybe another way to put is "parenting."

In general, it means the way the family shapes the value system for the children --through interaction, reinforcement of family value, proper conducts...etc.

How do you define "family education" - is it the same as "home schooling"?

Hmm, just a benign question asking for clarification on the subject. Is it too much to ask for from the poster? To me, it could mean "home schooling", "ed in family planning", or "sex ed".
Just don't jump your gun on blame games, dude!
