Cleveland kidnapper Ariel Castro sentenced to life plus 1000 years, will he serve that concurrently?
or was that, consecutively (not at the same time)?

It should have been......." One hour, in a locked room, handcuffed, and then allowed all his victims and their families to take turns with a Louisville slugger. .............
and THEN Life, plus 1,000 years .
The stupid Plus 1,000 years, is just legal mumbo jumbo.
We all know the prison system spits them out eventually because they don't want to bear the health care costs into their old age, and because of over crowding.........so we all know LIFE sentences are never really "LIFE" except in extreme cases, like Charles Manson or Sirhan Sirhan.
He'll probably walk free some day if he lives long enough.

Does it matter? The judge made it perfectly clear that Castro will spend the rest of his life in prison. There will be no parole. He will never get out.
It doesn't matter if he serves 10x100 years consecutively or in parallel. They're literally going to throw him in prison and throw away the key.
Even if this guy DID manage to somehow outlive his sentence, I STILL don't think he'd get out 1000 years from now.

Oh PULEESE. Dont make it sound so dramatically stern and punitive.
Most of us have heard of two LIFE sentences somehow ending up to 18 months in prison with early parole for good behavior.
1000 yrs may just be a little over 9 or 10 yrs?

Consecutively - I believe it was "Life plus 1000 years" - they needed to make certain he dies in jail.

Only the last 999 years.

Sometimes justice makes itself look ridiculous. The guy should just not get out.

No. Very shortly after he is dead, he will become a highly unsuitable subject for continued penal custody.

In year 657 of his jail term, he will be released.

He'll be raped, tortured and killed way before then...if there is a god and justice for those poor women is served.
